Abies procera 'Glauca' - Blue Noble Fir
A narrow conifer with pyramidal form. Needles are silver-blue. Trees produce impressive cones even at a young age. Prefers full sun in well-drained soil. 7' tall x 3' wide in 10 years. USDA zone 5.
Abies squamata - Flaky Fir
An upright conifer originating from China. Deep blue-green needles with silvery undersides and exfoliating bark provide excellent winter interest. Beautiful rich-purple cones. Prefers full sun in well-drained soil. 8' tall x 4' wide in 10 years. USDA zone 5.
Abies veitchii 'Heddergott' - Heddergott Fir
A bun shaped conifer with dense foliage. Needles are short with silvery undersides. Low spreading plant develops a somewhat vase shape with age. Beautiful foliage and an excellent addition to rock gardens. 8" tall x 1' wide in 10 years. USDA zone 3.
Acanthopanax X sieboldianus 'Variegata' - Varieagated Five Leaf Aralia
Varieagated Five Leaf Aralia Deciduous shrub with bright green foliage with creamy-white margined leaves. Prefers moist well-drained humus soil in heavy to light shade. Tolerates poorer soils. Grows 5' to 6' tall. USDA zone 5.
Acer circinatum 'Burgundy Jewel' - Burgundy Jewel Vine Maple
A small deciduous tree maple with rich wine colored leaves that hold their color throughout the year. Fall color is orange to red. Beautiful foliage. Prefers full sun in well-drained soil. 6' tall x 4' wide in 10 years. USDA zone 5.
Acer griseum - Paperbark Maple
Deciduous tree growing to 30' tall with a spread of 20 to 25'. Bark is silvery-orange peeling in paper-thin layers, becoming fissured with age. Originated from China. Prefers humus soil but tolerates clay. Sun to part shade. USDA zone 4.
Acer japonicum 'Aconitifolium' - Aconitifolium Japanese Maple
A spreading deciduous tree forming a round canopy. Fall color consists of fiery shades of red and orange. Also known as the "dancing-peacock" or "fernleaf" maple. One of the best show maples for display. Prefers sun to partial shade in well-drained soil. 8' tall x 6' wide in 10 years. USDA zone 5.
Acer palmatum ' Red Filigree Lace' - Red Filigree Lace Japanese Maple
A deciduous, spreading, mounded dissectum Japanese maple. Deep red color holds through Summer, even in shade giving way to brilliant crimson in the Fall. Prefers sun in well-drained soil. 2' tall x 3' wide in 10 years. USDA zone 5.
Acer palmatum 'Aka Shigitatsu Sawa' - Aka Shigitatsu Sawa Japanese Maple
A slow-growing, upright Japanese maple. New green leaves flush with soft shades of white, pink and red, maturing to a reddish-green in summer. Fall color is yellow to orange. Prefers sun to partial shade in well-drained soil. 8' tall x 6' wide in 10 years. USDA zone 5.
Acer palmatum 'Amber Ghost' - Amber Ghost Japanese Maple
An upright Japanese maple with early spring leaves emerging in shades of pink and amber with darkly-contrasting veins. Leaves develop increasingly-deeper amber tones until Fall when they develop into shades of brilliant reds and golds. Prefers sun to partial shade in well-drained soil. 10' tall x 8' wide in 10 years.
