The tree possesses large coarse dark green leaves and unlike the parent produces little to no fruit. Known for its spectacular pink Spring blooms of 10'' panicles of tubular flowers. Prefers full sun to part shade in moist well-drained loam but tolerates clay and sandy soils. Also resistant to drought, salt and wind damage. Attracts bees and hummingbirds. 15' tall x 15' wide in 10 years. USDA zone 5.
